Transformations...

It's the age old question: Do blondes have more fun?

I don't know, but I plan on finding out. After several trips to the salon and gradually lightening my hair in the most healthy way possible, this is where I am:

I don't know that I'm quite finished with it yet. I may do more, color-wise. But it's a huge change! I didn't even realize it until I put these two pictures next to one another. But I like it. I'm a fan. It helps that I've got the Mexico tan lingering, too....but it's just in time for Spring.

Thoughts?

Oscars...Finally!

Sorry, everyone! RL and a 100 Monkeys show got in the way of my Oscar fashion blog. So without further ado....here are some of my FAVS:

Aaahhhhh, Anna Kendrick. I wanted her to win so badly! But she has a long promising career ahead of her, and she rocked this pink Elie Saab Couture dress.
Elizabeth Banks - loved it. Absolutely loved it. She looked phenom in her lavendar Versace gown.
So jealous of Michelle Pfeiffer. Can I please age like this woman? Could she look any better? She chose Carolina Herrara, and chose well.

This could have been a total FAIL. But Demi made it look good. This is ruffles down right and blush/nude trend on point. Ruffled silk organza Atelier Versace.
Yes, I admit - I am a huge Twilight fan. But that is certainly not why I picked Kristen Stewart tonight. She has had many a fashion FAIL. However, she looked absolutely gorgeous. One cannot go wrong with Monique Lhuillier.

Hated this dress on Miley....but loved it overall. If she would have pulled her shoulders back and stood up straight, it could have been better. Jenny Packham.

My favorite of the night! And I'll be picked on for this because a lot of people hated it...but my love for purple supercedes all. The dress is beautiful. True story. And Zoe Saldana? Gorgeous. Especially in this fresh from the runway Givenchy Couture. YUM.

Mexico, baby!

So, after eight months...the mister and I are headed to Mexico. THANK GOD. Nine days on the beach. I can think of nothing better.
Although I plan on being in a bikini the majority of the time, I did happen to pick up some pretty cute dresses to wear.

This Hale Bob number is so colorful, so fun, 100% silk and is adorable on:

Then...I fell in love with this dress from Plenty! by Tracy Reese, so I picked that up:

And then I picked up this French Connection dress. I can't find it in the colors I have - red, yellow, blue and black - it looks very Mexican. I love it, it'll be so cute with flip flops!

I have been so busy at work, that I've not been able to post much lately. I hope once I return and get caught up, I can get back on track. Oh! And I made yet another trip to the salon this weekend and I am on the right track to my desired blonde hair! Pics to come!

i am always on a visual treasure hunt.

Spring shopping is coming up. I couldn't be happier. I am aching for Spring, and it doesn't help that today is the first sunny day in, well, weeks. I'm not cut out for living in KY.
Anyway...a couple items on my spring wish list:
Ahhhhh, Balenciaga. They can do no wrong in my eyes. I love the shape and color of this bag, $1795.

Sinclaire10 trench, $398. Love the color, love the bow, love it all.
This weekend marks one of my favorite local events - The Boutique Warehouse Sale. NINE, yes, nine of my favorite local boutiques in one location with sales up to 80% off. I have goose bumps just typing this. Is it a coincidence that my bonus comes tomorrow? I think not.
I would also be remiss not to mention the upcoming Super Bowl. What team will you be cheering on? Since I have nothing but hate that runs in my veins for the Indianapolis Colts and all things related to Peyton Manning, I will be cheering on the Saints, obvs. If the PATS can't be there, that's the team I want to win. Here's to hoping next year is a better one for Belichek and his boys.

Baby, It's Cold Outside...

And a winter storm is fast approaching. Which would be fine if I didn't have a road trip planned for this weekend. Coincidentally, and this is just my luck, it's supposed to be worse the further south you go. What? That's never the case. And cancelling is not an option. I have friends flying in from Jersey and Boston to meet me in Nashvegas for a girl's weekend. So here's hoping the Jeepster can handle a little snow and the girl's have no delays.

Despite the storm, I am so ready for Spring. My hair is getting blonder (not from sunlight, but from a bottle) and I'm headed to Mexico at the end of February - I'm ready for warm weather. And Spring fashion. I just got an email from ShopStyle today about nudes in for Spring - which I love.

Personally, I'm a fan of these Jimmy Choos:

The other Spring trend I am loving? FEATHERS. Since I live in the city that hosts the Kentucky Derby...I love all things feathers. Especially when it comes to hats. The more, the better. They're fun. Like this fun little number from Jason Wu:

LOVE this skirt by ADAM:

The "school" look is in - but not a la Britney's Baby, One More Time.

Like the sock/shoe combo here seen at Alexandre Herchcovitch:

That's all from me...I'm off to brave a storm. ;)

My thoughts...

On the Golden Globes. Let me start with the women I am so over: Nicole Kidman. You are too pulled, too tight and too pale. Your skin should not blend in to your dress. A little color wouldn't kill you. Halle Berry. I get it, you have great cleavage. Stop showing it to me in such an obvious way. Fergie. Where do I start? I love me some BEPs. But Fergie - you're a hot mess. You look like a tranny. Lighten that hair a little. Jennifer Garner. ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Bo-ring.

So, on to those I did like.

1. Diana Agron. Apparently this chick is on Glee. I don't watch the show, so I don't know. But, she's gorgeous. Great hair, great make up, great dress.

2. Courtney Cox - loved her hair and make up. I'm not a huge fan of black dresses, but hers was...eh. Nice. I like that it was by Victoria Beckham...that was pretty cool.

3. Sophia Vergara. She is hotttttt. I first saw her on Dirty Sexy Money (a show I am still mourning the loss of) and now I watch her on Modern Family. I loved the color of her Carolina Herrara dress.

4. Reese Witherspoon. Enough said. My god, she's always been adorable, but she has really come in to her own since she kicked Ryan Phillipe to the curb. Love her!

5. Jennifer Aniston. Are you familiar with the Kings of Leon song Sex On Fire? This is what played in my head as she came out on stage. Her notoriously beautiful hair was great, she played it conservative (as per usual) in black....but the slit up to there? AH-mazing. Eat your heart out, Brad Pitt, Vince Vaughn, John Mayer....and any other man that has scorned her.

6. Samantha Harris. I love bright colors - it's just part of who I am. So natch, I loved this orange dress. I did not, however, love the orange face Samantha Harris sported to match her dress. Too much spray tan is most definitely a bad thing.

7. Zoe Saldana. My favorite of the night. This dress could have gone so wrong...but it was soooo right. Perfect color to compliment her skin. The perfect amount of texture. It laid just perfectly on her body...I love it. All of it.

LOVE the Golden Globes!

And awards season in general, really. I will be blogging my favorites tomorrow. So far, I've seen some people that look fab, and of course, some that are downright hideous.

As for me, I had a great weekend, and I had one of those nights where I just loved my outfit. I get so happy when I am able to mix items I've had forever, with some things I just bought. My whole theory is "buy enough....something will match." Actually, it's every woman in my family's motto. You'd understand if you knew us.

But, here's my 'fit from this weekend. And excuse my dressed down hubby. And the fact that the picture was taken looking up at us. My thighs look huge. Not flattering.

Skinny jeans from American Eagle - $39.50 for jeans? Yes, please. Flat boots from DSW (see a few blog entries below), belt from Express about 3 years ago, bulk sweater/cardi from French Connection about five years ago, and gold sequined cami from American Eagle, this year.
